Classic medieval sword, late 13thC
Classic medieval sword, late 13th century, inspired by original examples and historical sources.
Dark brown grip color. Decorated leather chape on the crossguard.
The classic pommel has all the features seen in historical originals, oval shape, widening at the base, irregular shape, concave rim. The Oakeshott Type XII blade has a characteristic widening at the crossguard, a lenticular cross-section and a long fuller. A simple crossguard has characteristic flared ends, faceted to an octagonal cross-section.
The sword is not the lightest (1290g), but at the same time it is well balanced and stiff, and therefore maneuverable and with good stress distribution. Thanks to this, it has a really high impact force, which can be easily felt during cutting tests.
The crossguard is covered with a decorated leather chape / cropsflap / tashka. The grip has X-form risers. The handle with tashka and risers is very comfortable, which can be especially appreciated during long practice.
