Count Sword, 13thC
Classic one handed sword, 13th century, inspired by original examples and historical sources. Dark brown grip color.
Swords of this type, proportions and style can be found throughout almost all of Europe in the 13th century. I called it 'Count' because it was inspired by several examples in art from the mid-13th century (e.g. statues from Naumburg, tombstones of princes in Poland, etc.).
But also original swords from museums in Germany, France, Poland and the Czech Republic. This is a very popular type, both Oakeshott Type XII blades, Brass Pommel Type I, and Crossguard Type 2 are widely represented in European museums and in iconography. The dating of this classical type leaves no doubt.
Such swords were very popular in the period from around 1180 to 1330, alongside other, newer types.
