Crusader Sword, 12thC.
Late 12th century Crusader sword.
This sword is inspired by many examples dated to second half of 12th century.
It is one of a few types commonly used during Crusades. Brazil nut shape of the pommel is also one of the most characteristic forms of medieval pommel, which disappears in 13th century, replaced mostly by rounded types.
The sword is not very long, with short and tight grip, balanced slightly forward like many original examples of this 'family', but also light.
