Early Longsword, 13thC
Early Longsword, 13th century, based on original swords from European museums and historical sources. Used.
This is my old training and test sword, an early long sword that I have decided to sell to someone who will appreciate its value. This sword has passed all tests and trials. Despite years of service and visible sediment, it is in excellent condition and has proven its quality to me many times. It was also used for training sword fighting techniques from the 13th century, the classic simple design and type make it a model of the historical sword from this period. At the same time, it is an innovation of the first half of the 13th century: a slightly longer handle allows it to be gripped with both hands, partly on the head, which extends both the range of techniques and the range of the weapon.
This sword has a Passau-type blade, of German provenance. This type of blade with hexagonal cross-section, gives the sword better durability and stiffness.
It's hard for me to part with him, he taught me a lot, but maybe it's time for him to serve someone else. It is used, a bit worn, but it is perfectly straight, there are no gaps or nicks, all elements are stable, no loose, the black leather on the grip is slightly worn, but there are no abrasions, everything is sticking well. Simply a good and proven sword.
