Norman Crusader, 12thC
Norman Crusader Sword, 12th century, inspired by original examples from European museums.
Dark brown grip with 3 risers.
This sword has many distinctive features that define this specific group of swords. The first important feature is its low weight (950g), which allows for exceptionally quick and efficient handling. Another feature is the small pommel (Brazil-nut type), which doesn't shift the balance close to the crossguard, but creates a sense of balance and lightness during maneuvering, while also allowing the blade to deliver powerful strikes. Another significant feature is the long, straight crossguard, tapering slightly towards the ends. This crossguard provides good hand protection and can be used as an additional weapon in close combat. These swords were sophisticated weapons with many important features that gave them deadly properties.
Such swords were also used during the first Crusades by the Normans setting out for the Holy Land.

Note: This sword, like any handcrafted sword in the medieval style, can have traces of the manufacturing process, minor irregularities or asymmetries resulting from the specificity of real craftsmanship and medieval understanding of aesthetics, that are completely normal and do not affect the quality of the sword, but give it a unique original character, consistent with medieval objects of the same kind.
