Norman Crusader Era Sword, 12thC
Norman Crusader Era Sword, 12th century, inspired by original examples and historical sources.
Dark brown grip color.
Very popular in 12 many type of sword, often used by horsemen, as can be judged by the lengths of the blades of these one-handed swords. Characteristic proportions, long crossguard, massive pommel, straight blade with long fuller and cross form, are typical for this group of swords with brazil-nut pommels (Type 5f pommel, mushroom shape). The sword allows for strong, sweeping cuts and, if necessary, also thrusts. The balance and pommel make the sword more agile than it may seem. In my opinion, excellent handling for its type and holds all the ranges of historical parameters for this group of swords.
