Polish Early Longsword, late 13thC
Polish Early Longsword, late 13th century, inspired by original examples and historical sources.
Dark brown grip color. Polish heraldic eagle engraved on the blade.
This is a very early form of a sword with longer grip, to use it with both hands as well as with just one hand in combination with the shield. This is a very interesting transitional form. These swords were used since around 1250 and they were later transformed into long swords, with a longer blade. A light sword, designed mainly for cutting. Thanks to its balance close to the crossguard (55mm), it feels like a feather in one hand and allows for versatile use.
