Protector III
PROTECTOR III
14th century European Longsword, inspired by many of original swords mostly from Germany and Poland.
What is 'Protector Longsword Project'?
This is my personal original project, constantly improved through testing and analysis of original swords. The base and starting point for this project is, for main parameters: total length between approx. 1120 and 1180mm, weight around 1200-1300g and for types: blade Oakeshott Type XVIa, crossguard Type 2/5, pommelType I/J with peen block on the top.
The name 'Protector' in Latin means 'Defender'.
This is redisigned and improved version of my project 'Protector'.
Mostly it`s about blade type and mass distribution, now it is Oakeshott Type XVIa. That makes the sword more practical and versatile weapon, in my honest opinion.
It`s also about some details of the pommel type, peen block form, which are now more properly shaped for this group of historical swords. I have added also to the project two risers in the middle of the grip, instead just one, like before.
