Russdorf Crest Teutonic Longsword
Teutonic Order Longsword with the Russdorf family crest.
Black grip.
An excellent longsword representing a specific typological family of swords from Central Europe, which I have described as 'Elite.'
The blade has a hexagonal cross-section, tapers towards the point, has reinforced edges, and maintains high rigidity.
The pommel features brass inserts made using the repousse technique by Piotr Pastusiak. The inserts depict the 15th-century coat of arms of the von Russdorf family.
Black scabbard and belts with brass fittings.
The scabbard is embossed with a large cross in the style of the German Teutonic Order and the Latin inscription: Adiuvare Sanare Defendere (To Aid, To Heal, To Defend).
Measurements:
total length 1220mm
bladse length 960mm
blade width 55mm
grip 200mm
crossguard 175mm
pommel 55X27mm
balance 80mm
weight 1520g
Note: This sword, like any handcrafted sword in the medieval style, can have traces of the manufacturing process, minor irregularities or asymmetries resulting from the specificity of real craftsmanship and medieval understanding of aesthetics, that are completely normal and do not affect the quality of the sword, but give it a unique original character, consistent with medieval objects of the same kind.
