St Georgius V, 14thC
'St Georgius Sword V' - inspired by 14th century examples from European museums. That is a fifth edition of this special project, dedicated to St George. The sword is an 'early longsword' with wide blade and just slightly extended grip, covered with dark brown leather. That is actually large one handed sword with grip adapted to handling with both hands.
Brass pommel with silver crosses.
On the blade inscription inspired by original examples:
+BENEDICTUS DEUS MEUS+
which means:
'BLESSED IS MY GOD'
Scabbard
Black belts with dark brown scabbard leather.
Scabbard for this sword as always, is decorated with hand tooled depiction and painted St George defeating the dragon, hand painted golden inscription, fragment of Psalm 50:
'Cor mundum crea in me, Deus
et spiritum rectum innova in visceribus meis.' ...
which means:
'Create a pure heart inside me, God
and renew in my chest invincible spirit!'...
