Swiss National Museum inspired Sword, 13thC
Oakeshott Type XIV sword inspired by the one from Swiss National Museum, 13th century.
The sword from the Swiss National Museum is very distinctive and is a good example of the Oakeshott Type XIV.
The original sword is 863mm long and weight 945g.
I already made two reconstructions of it.
This time I decided to make a slightly different version of this sword. The sword has the similar proportions but is a bit longer.
Just like the original, the sword is also light and agile in this version.
Measurements:
overall length 920mm
blade length 770mm
blade width 54mm
grip length 102mm
crossguard 215mm
thickness: at the base 4,5mm
balance ca. 135mm
weight 970g
