Templar Crusader Sword, late 13thC
Templar / Crusader sword, late 13th century, inspired by original examples and historical sources.
Dark brown grip color.
I like to name and associate such swords with the Templars and the Crusades, mainly because this type was in use back then, from the 12th century, and the crossguard shape is associated with a cross in the Templar style, or the Crusade style in general. However, this is just my suggestion, such swords were also used in Europe in the period around 1200-1350. We know them from manuscripts and museums. This is basically a classic type of one-handed sword from the High Middle Ages. It is beginning to be adapted to fighting an armored enemy, but it is still a very universal weapon.
